Are you interested in taking part in an international research project? Prior to the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)/International Association of Counselling (IAC) 2019 Conference in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada (May 13 – 16, 2019), the IAC Research Roundtable (Chaired by Dr. Courtland Lee with Dr. Bill Borgen) is reaching out to associations and colleagues to join us at our first Go to Meeting, scheduled for Thursday December 13 at 11 AM EST. Come to this meeting with some ideas so that we can start to generate topics and connections. You will be asked to speak 2 to 3 minutes about your ideas. Please send your ideas ahead of the date so that we can send out a summary sheet to all participants (send to firstname.lastname@example.org).
This meeting will be followed by a second Go to Meeting in January where we will continue to assist you to develop ideas and connections to other researchers. Research ideas already suggested include:
- International Mapping and Advocacy of Career Counselling
- International Mapping and Advocacy of Clinical Supervision
There will be time at the CCPA/IAC 2019 Conference in Moncton to meet face to face with your team (or via Go to Meeting) to firm up ideas and to identify a team leader for your group. IAC will assist in continuing to meet once the conference is over by introducing "cool tools" for connecting (e.g., Zoom, Google docs) and by identifying "point people" to help you keep on track.
During the roundtable in Moncton, newcomers who have not participated in the Go to Meetings will also be welcome to bring their research ideas.
