IE: Navigating Career Readiness in Collectivist Asia: Preparing Students for a Changing World

Friday Dec 5/Saturday Dec 6, 2025

As Asia’s economies transform under the forces of digitalization, automation, and shifting organizational priorities, questions of career readiness take on new complexity. In collectivist contexts where cultural values, family expectations, and social harmony remain central, preparing students for an increasingly skills-driven and fluid world of work requires new ways of thinking.

This discussion draws on recent studies of workforce disruption, skills transformation, and career decision-making self-efficacy to explore how Asian learners, educators, and institutions can navigate the evolving relationship between culture, capability, and career development in a changing world.
